POST CHRISTMAS DAY 4 – Go out to Breakfast – let us know your favorite breakfast place!

There are so many breakfast places and with only 2 weekend days each week  it is hard to get out and enjoy a good breakfast.  Here are some of my favorite places for the perfect morning meal and I really like food so you might want to take note of these establishments.

St. Paul

The Neighborhood Cafe, 1570 Selby Ave  Saint Paul, MN 55104

Because the food is ample and affordable, parking is easy on the street, easy to bring your kids, great patio in the summer

Swede Hollow Cafe, 725 7th St E  Saint Paul, MN 55106

Because the food is amazingly tasty, the atmosphere is great coffee shop like hustle and bustle but with amazing food – what could be better?  The patio and neighborhood garden can not be beat in the warmth of the spring-fall months.

Day By Day Cafe, 477 7th Street West, Saint Paul, MN  55102

Because they have booths, atmosphere is diner like and food is fantastic.

Minneapolis

French Meadow Bakery, 2610 Lyndale Avenue S, Minneapolis, MN 55408

Because the bakery case feels like you might be in Europe or something, the high ceilings and huge chalk boards are fun, they were organic before it was cool, they have lots of gluten free options for my gluten intolerant friends and family.

Richfield & South Minneapolis

Patrick’s Bakery, 2928 West 66th St, Richfield, MN  55423, 6010 Lyndale Avenue, Minneapolis, MN  55419 (in Bachman’s)

Great food as well as being super kid friendly (kids eat free Tues/Thurs for dinner and they have a clown on Tuesday for dinner!).  The bakery case will make you want everything in it so be careful!

Wise Acre Eatery, 5401 Nicollet Avenue South, MPLS, MN 55419

They have a garage door that opens to the patio – pretty sweet.  They are a “farm to table” restaurant and you can read more about that on their site.  I had a I had no idea until I wrote this post but this great place is affiliated with Tangletown Gardens http://www.tangletowngardens.com/ which is also in South Minneapolis.  If you are interested in gardening – Tangletown Gardens is one of the best places to get ideas and inspiration.

Edina & Roseville

The Good Earth, 3460 Galleria, Edina, MN 55435, 1901 Highway 36 W Roseville, MN 55113-2709

All I have to say is GOOD EARTH® TEN GRAIN HOT CAKES.  You can order pretty much anything and it will be amazing.  They often put seasonal combinations of flavors  together that I would never think of combining.  I am not sure how they get it right every time but they seem to!  Both of these places have parking lots and patios but the patio in Edina is by far the best one.

So, now that you know my love for eating out – get out and try some of these places yourself – happy eating in the Twin Cities!
