It was “necessary” to recess the bracket so the TV would not stick out – so the demo begins

As we were shopping for a bracket to mount the TV, there were a few things we had in mind.  We wanted to make sure we could see the TV from the kitchen so we needed to be able to rotate the TV toward the kitchen and we also wanted to be able to tilt it down toward the couch.  We were about to find a pretty good deal on a mount but it was also quite ugly and would have made our TV stick out to the edge of the mantle.  I kindly suggested that we recess the hardware into the wall.  Peter was a bit hesitant as he knew the size the project (which is always a little hard for me to grasp at the beginning . ..I am thinking a weekend and he is thinking a month). . .it usually ends up to be closer to Peter’s estimation. . .thanks Peter – for know how long and grueling the projects are and doing them anyway!  I love you!

Peter used a reciprocating saw and a hammer to begin the demo process outlining the area we needed to rip out to mount the TV.
